10 Years of Yoga…
Looking back I decided to try yoga to help my running. Running had gone from something that helped me get/keep fit to an obsession I wanted to lengthen my years as I was getting into some much longer distances and trickier terrain. I wanted to build strength and flexibility. I also had shoulder and back difficulties and if I’m honest probably a bit of a temper at times.

What is the best way to start running?
The event is just about 15 weeks away. So how do you get going? Depending upon how you approach things you could just turn up on the day and walk as fast as you can around the course and blag it but I know that you may want to push yourself at least a little, just to increase that sense of pride and satisfaction when you don the Wigan 10K t-shirt and medal at the end.
Think you can’t run the Wigan 10K?
Running is one of those things that humans are pre-programmed to do. It’s one of our two methods of built in transportation, and alongside it’s more popular, but very close neighbour walking, it can make you feel really good.
We’ve just turned NINE!
Studio One Yoga celebrated its ninth birthday last weekend and we could not have asked for a better weekend. A day of celebrations followed by a Sunday walk and beers!
Our walking club get everywhere…
If you’re new to our studio, you may not be aware that we have a regular walking club. Every five or six weeks we get together and explore a new area of the North West, sometimes close to home but most of the time a little further afield.
Merry Christmas from Studio One Yoga
The month where our teachers get a little giddy, the playlists become a little more festive and there’s ALWAYS chocolate on the counter.
